Chapter 6 - The Offer“I have a proposal for you,” Teresa said, pulling a leather folder from her bag.
Ramón looked at her skeptically. “What kind of proposal?”
“I own Vance Development Group,” she explained. “We maintain a fleet of over two hundred commercial vehicles across the state. Right now, we outsource our fleet maintenance to a corporation that overcharges us and does poor work.”
She opened the folder, revealing an official contract.
“I want to hire your shop as the exclusive maintenance hub for our regional fleet. It’s a five-year contract, guaranteed monthly retainer, with upfront capital to expand your facility and hire extra mechanics.”
Ramón stared at the document in shock. The figure at the bottom of the page was more money than his shop had made in the last decade.

“Teresa… I can’t accept this,” he stammered. “This is too much. You’re doing this because of Christmas Eve.”
“I’m doing this because you’re an exceptional mechanic who is honest,” she corrected firmly. “I watched you work on my car. You don't cheat people. You do things right. That’s good business, Ramón.”
