Chapter 7 - The Boardroom ShowdownTwo weeks after the attack, the emergency shareholder summit of Quinn Marine Enterprises took place in our glass-walled boardroom overlooking the Miami harbor.

Andrea walked into the boardroom wearing an elegant white pantsuit, her facial bruises almost entirely healed, her posture regal, holding her head high.

The board of directors stood up as one, offering her a long, heartfelt standing ovation.

I stepped down from the podium, taking my daughter’s hand and guiding her to the head of the mahogany table.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” I announced to the board. “Effective immediately, I am officially retiring as Chief Executive Officer of Quinn Marine Enterprises. And I am nominating Andrea Quinn as my sole successor.”

The board voted unanimously on the spot.

Andrea took the microphone, her voice clear, strong, and unshakeable: “My father built this company on integrity, strength, and courage. Those who tried to destroy us thought we were weak. Today, we prove that truth cannot be silenced.”
