Chapter 9 - The Vow on the Sound

On a magnificent, sun-drenched Saturday in June, our wedding took place on the oceanfront lawn of our Seattle estate.

Cedar arbors were draped in cascading white roses, blooming eucalyptus, and soft blue hydrangeas overlooking the sound.

Over a hundred of our closest friends, architects, hospital doctors, and Uncle Arthur sat beneath the azure sky.

I walked down the petal-strewn aisle in a custom-tailored ivory lace gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a cathedral-length veil that caught the sea breeze.

Julian stood at the altar in an immaculate black tuxedo, his eyes glistening with profound emotion as I reached his side.

He took my hands into his, lifting my veil with infinite gentleness.

"Elena," Julian spoke during his vows, his voice clear and steady. "You taught me that true strength is not built on stone or steel, but on the unyielding courage of the human heart. I vow to honor you, protect you, cherish you, and stand beside you through every season of our lives, for all eternity."

"Julian," I replied, my voice sweet and resonant. "You gave me a sanctuary of pure trust, a true partner, and a love that is brave, patient, and unbreakable. I am yours, completely and forever."

When the minister pronounced us husband and wife, Julian pulled me into a passionate, breathtaking kiss beneath the warm Pacific sun, while our guests erupted into thunderous, joyful cheers.
