Chapter 8 - The High-Stakes BetrayalOn Saturday afternoon, a breakthrough happened. Mason recalled his uncle mentioning a fireproof safe hidden beneath the floorboards of the shop office.

Together, Mason and Isabella pried up the old oak planks, pulling out a dusty steel box. Inside lay the original 1984 land agreement, signed by Mason’s grandfather and Isabella’s father—containing an explicit clause stating the land could never be transferred to a commercial entity without the owner's written consent.
“We have them,” Isabella gasped, holding the document. “This invalidates Sterling’s corporate takeover entirely!”
Suddenly, the side door clicked open.
Sterling stepped inside, accompanied by two hired security guards. “I figured you’d find that old box eventually, Isabella.”
Before Mason could move, one of the guards drew a weapon, stepping toward Isabella to grab the paper. Mason’s protective instincts kicked into high gear. He grabbed a heavy steel socket arm from his bench and stepped into the guard’s path with lethal military precision, slamming the man against the wall and disarming him in seconds.
The second guard lunged, but Mason dodged, driving an elbow into his ribs and tackling him onto the concrete floor.

Sterling panicked, grabbing the land agreement from Isabella’s hands and sprinting out toward his idling vehicle.
“Mason, the paper!” Isabella screamed.
