Chapter 10 - The MasterpieceOne year later, the summer sun broke golden over a private villa overlooking the cliffs of Amalfi, Italy.

The Mediterranean breeze blew soft and warm, carrying the scent of wild lemons and salt water across the stone terrace.
I sat in a comfortable lounge chair wearing a white silk kaftan, drafting new architectural sketches on my digital tablet. My dark hair was caught in the breeze, and on my finger, the black diamond ring sparkled brightly under the Italian sun.
A soft, playful gurgle echoed from a wicker crib nearby.
I set my stylus down, leaning over the crib to pick up our three-month-old daughter, Victoria. She had Gabriel’s dark, expressive eyes and my soft, radiant smile.
Footsteps clicked against the stone tiles.
Gabriel walked out onto the terrace wearing a linen shirt and trousers, carrying a tray of fresh espresso and pastries. His face instantly softened as he saw me holding our baby girl.
He set the tray down, walked over, and wrapped his arms around both of us, kissing my temple before leaning down to nuzzle our daughter's cheek.
"How is my beautiful family this morning?" Gabriel murmured, his voice rich with contentment.
"We are perfect," I smiled, resting my head against his chest, listening to the steady, strong rhythm of his heartbeat.
My phone on the table chimed with an email notification from my firm in New York: Sullivan & Sterling Architecture has officially been awarded the global contract for the United Nations Sustainability Pavilion.
I looked at the notification, then at my husband, and finally at our healthy, beautiful daughter.
The girl who had once been told she was "too much," who had been forced into the dark by shallow, cruel people, had built an empire of love, power, and success that no one could ever tear down.

I took a long, peaceful breath of the sea air, taking Gabriel's hand in mine.
I had found my place. I had claimed my space. And my masterpiece was just beginning.
