Chapter 10 - The Unbroken VowThree years after the rescue.

The stars shone brightly over the Atlantic coastline, casting a silver reflection across the calm waters of the bay.
Hannah stood on the second-story balcony of their home, holding a warm cup of chamomile tea. The cool night breeze blew gently through the moss-draped oak trees, carrying the sweet scent of night-blooming jasmine and ocean salt.
Caleb walked out onto the balcony behind her, wearing a comfortable sweater, wrapping his arms securely around her waist, pulling her back against his chest.
His large, warm hands rested comfortably over her waist—where a tiny, new three-month bump was softly beginning to show.
“How are you feeling tonight, sweetheart?” Caleb whispered against her ear, kissing her shoulder.
“I feel wonderful, Caleb,” Hannah smiled, resting her hands over his. “Dr. Jenkins said the ultrasound today showed a perfectly healthy baby boy.”
Caleb closed his eyes for a moment, letting out a long, quiet breath of profound gratitude, pressing his lips against her neck.
“A son,” Caleb whispered emotionally. “Our little boy.”
“He’s going to have the best father in the world,” Hannah said softly, turning around in his embrace to look into his dark, loving eyes.
Caleb looked down at his wife—the woman who had survived the dark, the woman who had taught him what real devotion meant.
“I promised you on that hospital floor that I would spend my life protecting you, Hannah,” Caleb spoke, his voice clear, steady, and filled with an eternal promise. “And I will keep that vow until my last breath.”
I leaned up, pressing my lips gently against his—a long, sweet kiss filled with healing, gratitude, and an infinite promise of a bright future together.
They had tried to poison his mind with lies. A mother had tried to use betrayal and medical neglect to destroy a family for cold, bitter control. But they had forgotten one fundamental, eternal truth: true love is a light that shatters any darkness, forging a sanctuary that no evil can ever touch again.
