Chapter 5 - The Unmasking at the DockBethany let out a harsh, screeching laugh, stepping up to the table. âThat is ridiculous! Harvey inherited this entire property six months ago! Show them out, Harvey!â

âDid he?â I asked quietly, pulling a certified bank audit document from the binder flap. âThen perhaps Harvey can explain why First National Bank just issued an immediate freeze on his corporate account thirty minutes ago for submitting a forged property deed listing my name?â
Harveyâs face drained of every drop of color. He staggered back against the patio railing as if heâd been struck by a physical blow.
âHarvey...?â Bethany hissed, turning to glare at her husband, her eyes wide with sudden, terrifying realization. âHarvey, what is she talking about? Tell her sheâs lying!â
Harvey couldn't speak. His mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water.
Mr. Sterling stepped up to the table, pulling out his reading glasses to examine the certified land deed and the fraud warning letter signed by Margaret Vance.
âMy God,â Mr. Sterling whispered, his face darkening with intense fury as he looked at Harvey. âThe property isn't in your name at all! You tried to secure our three-million-dollar investment using a fraudulent land guarantee!â
The entire patio erupted into total chaos!
Investors grabbed their coats, screaming at Harvey; guests stood up in shock; and neighbors stared in absolute disbelief as the truth exposed the two frauds standing beneath the party lights.
