My legal team, led by senior corporate attorney Sarah Jenkins, presented a massive, thirty-page forensic audit showing how Daniel had systematically siphoned two million dollars from our joint marital estate to pay off Vanessa’s blackmail demands and cover their illegal offshore accounts.
“Claire,” Sarah spoke, handing me a court order. “The judge has issued an emergency freeze on every asset bearing the Mercer name. The house, the corporate accounts, the investment trusts—everything is locked.”
“What about their board meeting today?” I asked, adjusting my white blazer.
“Mercer Enterprises is hosting its annual shareholder summit on the fiftieth floor of the Mercer Tower at ten o'clock,” Sarah revealed with a grim smile. “Daniel is planning to announce the complete absorption of your family’s real estate holdings.”
