Chapter 5 - The Cliffs of Newport

he Whitmore estate was a masterpiece of classic architecture, perched majestically on
the rugged cliffs overlooking the Atlantic. Hundreds of high-society guests—senators,
billionaires, and influential women wearing expensive designer hats—filled the rows of white chairs
facing the ocean. The atmosphere was thick with whispers, the local elite sensing that something was

embroidery shimmered like liquid silver with every step I took. I looked like a queen, completely
radiant, holding my head high.
Camille’s smirk vanished instantly, her face turning a sickly shade of green. Her eyes darted from
my dress to my face, her hands shaking so hard she dropped her bouquet of white roses onto the
grass. She took a step forward, her mouth opening in a silent scream of pure, unadulterated rage, but
my mother grabbed her arm, forcing her back. Daniel stood at the altar, his eyes wide with absolute
admiration as he watched me walk toward him. He had no idea that the woman he was about to
marry was about to bring down her entire family’s house of cards right in front of his prestigious
