"You... you heard us?" Elaine's panicked voice echoed in the background.
"I saw the group chat, Mom," Audrey said calmly. "I saw Uncle Gary's raccoon memes. I saw Rachel's joke about hiring someone attractive. And I heard all about the ten-thousand-dollar VIP Cabo cruise deposit you booked with the money you scammed out of my labor."
"Audrey, sweetheart, it was just family teasing!" Elaine stammered frantically. "You know how your father is! We love you!"
"You love having a free servant," Audrey corrected gently. "Do not call me again."
She hung up and blocked every single one of their numbers on her phone.

Water flooded into the hallway, ruined the hardwood flooring, destroyed Elaine's antique furniture, and seeped down into the living room walls!
