Chapter 3 - The Viral Firestorm
By 6:00 PM that evening, the backyard party had completely dispersed.
However, the recording of my revelation had already detonated across social media.
Multiple guests had livestreamed the entire confrontation to TikTok, Instagram, and X. Within three hours, the video had amassed over forty-five million views worldwide, trending as the number one topic under the hashtags #SterlingTruth, #MayaSterling, and #TheRealHero.
Major national news outlets—including CNN, Good Morning America, and The Los Angeles Times—were camped outside our gated community, broadcasting live coverage.

I walked in wearing a soft lavender sweater and dark jeans.
"Maya..." my father choked out, looking up with bloodshot, agonized eyes. "I am so sorry. God, I am so sorry. I should have protected you twelve years ago. I let your mother’s ambition and my own cowardice destroy your childhood."
I sat across from him, my hands steady.

"You let them hide me, Dad," I said quietly. "You let me believe I was something to be ashamed of."
"Never again, Maya," Robert swore, his voice trembling with fierce conviction. "I don't care about the agency. I don't care about the social club. Starting tonight, the truth belongs to you."
