Chapter 10 - Grayson’s Panic

Desperate and cornered like a wild animal, Grayson tracked Meline down to her temporary safe haven. Bursting past the private security detail into the foyer, his face was flushed with frantic anger.
“Meline! What the hell are you playing at?” Grayson shouted, his polished exterior completely shattered. “The accounts are frozen! My board is threatening mutiny! Did you talk to federal investigators?”
Meline stepped out from the inner study, looking remarkably calm in a soft cashmere robe. The terrified, compliant clerk who once waited hours in the snow was entirely gone.
“I didn't just talk to investigators, Grayson,” Meline replied evenly, her voice carrying a chilling authority. “I gave them the keys to your entire fraudulent operation.”

Grayson’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief, attempting to pivot to his old manipulative tactics by stepping forward and reaching for her hands. “Meline, baby, listen to me... someone is setting us up. We’re a team, remember? You have to retract those filings before—”
Before he could finish, two federal marshals stepped out from the shadows, placing heavy hands on Grayson’s shoulders and pushing him back against the wall. His gaslighting no longer held any power over her.
