Chapter 6 - RETRIEVING THE EVIDENCE

“Natalie, listen to me,” I said into the phone, keeping my eyes locked on the live video stream. “I’m downloading the full-resolution cloud logs right now. Every frame from both cameras, audio tracks isolated, timestamps verified. I want you to contact Attorney Marcus Vance—the one who handled your corporate compliance audit. Get him on a three-way call.” Natalie didn't hesitate. Within three minutes, Marcus joined the encrypted line. After watching a thirty-second clip of the nursery feed, the lawyer’s breath hissed through his teeth. “Daniel, this constitutes malicious endangerment, elder/dependent adult abuse given her medical status, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. If I walk into that house with you and the police, we can secure an emergency protection order and an immediate eviction. But we need to time it so Emma and the baby are out of her physical reach the second we cross that threshold.”
