Chapter 11 - DISCOVERING THE ABANDONED HUT
On their fourth day on the island, while exploring further inland along an overgrown animal trail, they stumbled upon something that changed their odds of survival entirely: a rotting, abandoned wooden hut left behind by long-ago pearl divers or smugglers. Though dusty and covered in vines, the structure had a solid roof, a raised wooden sleeping platform, and several metal tins containing dry matches, salt, and old fishing nets. Transforming the forgotten outpost into a habitable home base gave them their first real glimmer of hope that they might actually survive long enough to be rescued.
