Arthur Sterling was sentenced in federal court to eighteen years in prison for securities fraud, wire fraud, and corporate tax evasion.

On a warm autumn evening, Daniel hosted a private celebration dinner at his estate—not a lavish party for high society, but a warm gathering for his employees, doctors from St. Jude’s, and Maria’s mother, Rosa, who was now completely healthy after a successful kidney transplant.

He pulled a simple, beautiful velvet box from his jacket, opening it to reveal a classic solitaire diamond ring.

“Maria Alvarez,” Daniel said, tears shining in his eyes. “You taught me what true grace looks like. Will you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?”

The room erupted into applause and happy tears.
