Chapter 8 - The Vow on the Cliffs

Over the next two years, my partnership with Julian blossomed into the most profound, restorative love of my life.
Julian stood as my unwavering anchor, supporting my foundation’s national expansion and filling my home with laughter, warmth, and unshakeable trust.
On a warm, starlit evening in late September, Julian and I walked along the private stone terrace of our Newport home.
The ocean waves crashed softly against the cliffs below, reflecting the golden glow of a full harvest moon.

"Audrey," Julian spoke, his deep voice rich with raw, honest emotion. "You walked out of a storm with unmatched grace and built an empire of light, courage, and truth. You are my partner, my inspiration, and the love of my life."
Julian dropped to one knee on the stone terrace, reaching into his jacket pocket.
He opened a hand-carved wooden box made of restored teak, revealing a flawless, four-carat emerald-cut diamond ring set in platinum, flanked by two ocean-blue sapphires.
"Audrey Sterling," Julian said, his eyes shining with tears of devotion. "Will you marry me? Will you build an everlasting life and family by my side?"
Tears of pure, radiant joy spilled over my cheeks.

"Yes, Julian!" I whispered, throwing my arms around his neck as he stood. "Yes, a thousand times yes!"
Julian lifted me into his arms, kissing me deeply beneath the Rhode Island stars as the ocean breeze wrapped around us.
