Chapter 5 - The Confrontation in the LightThe fragile sanctuary broke during an afternoon trip to a high-end shopping center in Hudson Yards. Maya held Arya’s hand tightly as they walked past glittering holiday displays, laughing at a mechanical toy train. Arya, momentarily letting her guard down, laughed aloud—her distinct, crystal-clear voice echoing through the open atrium.
A group of teenagers standing near a coffee kiosk froze. One girl held up her smartphone, her eyes widening in recognition.
“Wait... that voice,” the teenager gasped, pointing her camera directly at Arya. “That’s her! That’s Arya Thorne, the voice actress who screamed at that little girl!”
Within seconds, a crowd began to form. Strangers pulled out their phones, shouting accusations and flashing cameras. Panic seized Arya’s chest; her vision blurred as the familiar terror of public execution rushed back over her.
Maya began to cry, clinging frantically to Arya’s coat.
Before the crowd could advance any further, Liam stepped forcefully in front of them. His posture transformed instantly into that of a formidable corporate titan. His voice rang out with chilling authority, cutting through the noise of the crowd.

“Lower those phones immediately,” Liam commanded, his dark eyes sweeping over the onlookers with terrifying intensity. “If any video of this child or this woman appears online, my legal team will ensure you face immediate civil and criminal action. Move away now.”
The crowd faltered under his icy authority, lowering their devices in shock as Liam guided Arya and Maya through a private service exit to his waiting vehicle.
