Chapter 4 - THE KIDS’ PERSPECTIVE

My children, ages eight and eleven, stood near the living room threshold watching the scene with wide eyes and stunned expressions. They were old enough to notice how grandmother constantly disrespected their mother, treating our home like a hotel where someone else was obligated to pick up her trash. When grandmother snapped at me about the cleaning duties, my daughter covered her mouth in shock, and my son crossed his arms with a protective scowl. They knew their mom worked hard to keep our sanctuary peaceful, and they hated seeing her walked all over.
