Chapter 2 - THE "WOMAN TO CLEAN IT" EXCUSE
Whenever I politely asked her to clean up after herself during past visits, she would always laugh and deploy her favorite insulting phrase: “Well, this house has a woman to clean it, doesn’t it?” My husband disliked her behavior just as much as I did, but confronting her never solved anything because she immediately played the victim, claiming she was only trying to help. Meanwhile, I was left washing abandoned dishes, wiping mud from floors, and picking up wrappers she dropped beside the furniture. When she spilled the coffee this time and repeated her obnoxious line, I finally smiled back and told her that for once, she was completely right.
