Chapter 1 - THE UNINVITED ARRIVAL AND THE COFFEE SPILL

I’m thirty years old, happily married, and raising two amazing children, ages eight and eleven. My kids have never been the biggest source of stress in my home; that title proudly belongs to my mother-in-law, who never called before visiting, simply appearing at the door and leaving every room messier than she found it. Last Saturday, she reached my limit by arriving uninvited, taking over my kitchen to prepare lunch, and leaving the room looking like a storm had passed through it. To top it all off, she deliberately spilled coffee across my freshly cleaned floor, looked directly at the stain, and walked away without attempting to clean it.
