Chapter 7 - The Divorce Papers

I filed for divorce six months after our anniversary.
Graham did not contest.
When Rebecca served papers, he was sitting in the library wearing his father’s watch.
He read them.
Then looked at me.
“Is there anything I can do?”
“Yes.”
Hope flashed.
“Sign.”
It disappeared.
He nodded.
“Okay.”
Our financial case was enormous because of the trust.
Graham voluntarily acknowledged Exhibit C.
That stunned everyone.
His attorneys could have fought enforceability for years.
He refused.
“Elena’s trust funded those acquisitions. Record it.”
Dominic said he was insane.
Graham replied, “No. I was insane when I thought hiding it made it mine.”
My trust received negotiated interests and restitution valued at over $140 million.
I did not take Calloway Maritime control.
I converted portions into independent shares and charitable assets.
Graham retained legitimate holdings after penalties.
Our home?
I did not want it.
He did not either.
Calloway House became headquarters for a maritime workers’ foundation.
I moved into a smaller home on Sullivan’s Island.

First night alone, I slept terribly.
