Chapter 12: Unstoppable

One Year Later.

The morning sun crested over the horizon, casting a brilliant, golden light across the city skyline.

I stood on the private balcony of the Vanguard Tech executive penthouse, holding a mug of hot, premium coffee. Far below, the city was waking up, but up here, the air was crisp, quiet, and completely mine.

The past year had been a baptism by fire, but I hadn't burned. I had thrived. I had expanded my father's tech empire, launched three new global philanthropic initiatives, and built a circle of friends and colleagues who valued my mind, my leadership, and my heart.

I took a sip of my coffee. I didn't think about my mother or Mia very often anymore. They were relics of a past life—a heavy, rusted anchor that I had finally cut loose.

I had spent my entire twenties believing that blood was an unbreakable contract, that family was an obligation you had to suffer through, no matter how much they bled you dry.

But I knew the truth now. Family isn't the people who demand you carry their burdens while they laugh at your exhaustion. Family is the people who help you carry the weight, who respect your sacrifice, and who stand by you when you have absolutely nothing to give.

I turned around and walked back into my massive, sunlit office. My desk was piled with new contracts, global expansion plans, and charity initiatives.

My mother had told me to find a new place.

I did. I found the top of the world. And no one was ever going to drag me down again.
