Chapter 10 - The Flight Forward

On a bright spring morning, Ethan stood on the flight line at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, wearing a custom miniature flight suit with his own name embroidered over the left pocket: ETHAN WHITAKER-LANGFORD.
Beside him, Thomas knelt down, helping him adjust his flight goggles as a sleek twin-engine utility aircraft stood ready on the tarmac for a private family flight over the California coastline.
"Ready for your first co-pilot lesson, Ethan?" Thomas asked, offering a wide, encouraging grin.
"Ready, Commander!" Ethan cheered, giving a crisp, perfect salute.
Olivia stood near the hangar doors, watching them with tears of profound joy shining in her eyes.

She remembered the morning at the Coronado gate when a single lie had tried to break their world. But truth had cut through the darkness like morning light through coastal fog. They had left the wreckage of betrayal far behind, rising above the storm with dignity, purpose, and unbreakable grace.
As the aircraft engines roared to life and lifted into the clear blue sky, Olivia looked out the window at the endless horizon ahead, knowing that their future was soaring higher than ever before.
