Eleanor looked over at Marcus, who stepped forward with a detailed file.
"We pulled your financial records the second week you approached Eleanor at the charity gala," Marcus explained calmly.
"We knew about your three hundred thousand dollars in gambling debts in Macao."
"We knew about the offshore shell accounts you set up in Belize."
"And we knew about your history of targeting wealthy widows in Florida."
Jason looked between them, his mind reeling as the trap snapped shut around his neck.
"The helicopter..." Jason stammered. "The fall..."
"The notary and the pilot work for my security firm, Jason," Eleanor revealed with a cold smile.
"The side door was rigged with an external safety harness tethered directly to the aircraft's frame."
"When you pushed me, I dropped exactly twelve feet before the spring-loaded wire caught me beneath the fuselage."
"I was winched into the secondary cargo bay three seconds after you closed that door."
"You didn't push an old woman to her death."
"You pushed yourself straight into a federal penitentiary."
The lead federal agent stepped forward, pulling a pair of heavy steel handcuffs from his tactical belt.
"Jason Reed, you are under arrest for attempted capital murder, wire fraud, and grand larceny," the agent declared firmly.
Jason tried to bolt toward the private elevator foyer.
Two agents moved with trained speed, tackling him onto the marble floor.

His chin slammed against the hard surface, a bloody cut opening on his lip.
They forced his arms behind his back, clicking the steel cuffs tightly around his wrists.
