Chapter 8 - The Truth ExposedEthan kept his composure, but his jaw tightened. Before he could speak, Victoria stepped forward, her eyes flashing with dangerous authority.
"Daniel," Victoria said, her voice clear and cutting. "Ethan built a honest business with his own two hands. You, on the other hand, have been cooking your firm’s books for six months to cover up your real estate losses."
Daniel turned pale. "What?"
"Did you really think Sinclair Capital wouldn't perform a routine background audit after you approached me?" Victoria asked coldly. "Your firm is bankrupt, Daniel. And the only reason you aren't under investigation yet is because Ethan asked me not to press charges against his brother."
The crowd gasped. Daniel’s face drained of all color as former business partners stepped away from him in disgust.
At that moment, Sir Richard Hayes walked over, chuckling softly. "Victoria, is this the young man who runs Proof Bakery?"
"It is, Sir Richard," Victoria said, relaxing her tone. "Ethan Parker."

Sir Richard shook Ethan’s hand warmly. "My wife buys your sourdough every Saturday, son. Best crust in the state. Victoria, if this young man trusts your vision, then so do I. You have my 12% proxy vote tonight."
With one handshake, Vance Global’s hostile takeover was completely crushed.
