Chapter 6 - Reclaiming the Helm

With Dominic and Genevieve removed, the stock of Helios Dynamics plunged twelve percent in pre-market trading as panicked news reports flooded Wall Street.

At 2:00 PM, I called an emergency global all-hands meeting in the main auditorium.

Over five hundred employees gathered in tense silence, worried about layoffs, cancelled projects, and the collapse of the company.

I walked onto the main stage wearing a simple black suit, stepping up to the podium.

"Good afternoon, everyone," I said, my voice steady, warm, and resolute. "My name is Beatrice Sterling. Many of you know me only as Dominic's wife. But today, I am speaking to you as the majority owner and the daughter of Arthur Sterling, the engineer who developed the core solar technology that powers this enterprise."

The auditorium remained completely silent as every eye locked onto me.

"I know you are frightened about your jobs, your stock options, and the future of this firm," I continued. "I am here to tell you that Helios Dynamics is not going anywhere. The fraudulent executives have been removed. Every project will remain fully funded, no employees will be laid off, and starting tomorrow, twenty percent of Apex Capital's equity will be placed into an employee profit-sharing trust."

The room erupted into stunned gasps, followed by a wave of enthusiastic, deafening applause.

For the first time in years, the workers on the factory floors and the researchers in the labs realized they were no longer working for a pair of narcissistic social climbers—they were working for a leader who genuinely cared about the mission.
