Chapter 13 - THE BETRAYAL|

Before Arthur could order a lockdown, the heavy oak doors of the office were thrown open.
Three armed men wearing dark coats stepped into the room, their weapons raised. Leading them was Marco Costello, his neck heavily bandaged from Saturday night, a manic, unhinged sneer across his face.
Behind him stood Don Hector Castiglione himself.
“Don’t move, Arthur,” Hector said smoothly, stepping into the office with a heavy silver cane. “The building is surrounded. My men took out your gate security five minutes ago.”
Leo reached for his jacket, but Marco raised a high-caliber pistol, pointing it directly at Leo’s chest.
“Sit down, little brother!” Marco snarled, his eyes red-rimmed and wild. “You had your chance, Arthur! You humiliated me in front of the whole city for a damn secretary!”
Arthur didn't panic. He slowly stood up from his chair, towering over the desk, his hands tucked loosely into his pockets.
“Hector,” Arthur said quietly, completely ignoring Marco. “You’re making a mistake. Marco sold you fake manifests. The weapons at Pier 4 don't belong to O’Malley. They belong to the federal task force.”
Hector froze, his sharp eyes narrowing. “What?”
“Show him, Beatrice,” Arthur commanded softly.

Beatrice didn't flinch despite the three guns pointed into the room. She calmly slid the leather folder across the mahogany desk toward Don Hector.
“Page twelve, Don Hector,” Beatrice said, her voice completely steady. “The serial numbers on those crate transfers match an active ATF seizure log from Detroit. Marco didn't set up a deal for you. He set you up to take a federal indictment so he could clear his own debt.”
