Chapter 5 - Unraveling the New Wife's PastFollowing that night, Yen overhauled the mansion’s security. She fired the old guards and replaced them with heavily tattooed mercenaries. Mrs. Man and Cuong were placed under strict surveillance, barred from stepping near the cellar again.
However, Mrs. Man's suspicions only grew. Billionaire Cap Vu had fallen dangerously ill ever since marrying Yen six months prior. His private doctor—personally appointed by Yen—continually diagnosed him with "severe nervous exhaustion."
Cuong decided to investigate Yen’s background. Through a friend in law enforcement, he uncovered a shocking truth: Yen was not a refined heiress educated abroad as she claimed. Her real name was Nguyen Thi Hoa, a woman with a criminal past from a remote province who had once been tried for child abduction but acquitted due to a lack of evidence.
Who was the child in the basement? And why was Yen keeping them chained behind a wall?
