Chapter 7 - The Unspoken EntranceIt didn't take long for guests to notice the strange object in the middle of the luxury gift table.

Several socialites pointed and whispered. âWhat is that on the table?â
âIs that... newspaper?â
Evelyn Whitfield noticed the commotion and walked over, holding her champagne flute, her fiancé Julian following close behind.
When Evelynâs eyes fell upon the newspaper-wrapped box, her face flushed with sudden annoyance and embarrassment.
âWho put this trash on my gift table?!â Evelyn demanded, her voice echoing across the quieted roomâthe exact same phrase she had uttered fifteen years ago.
Victoria Whitfield rushed over, her face red with anger. âThis is outrageous! Where is the venue manager?! I want whoever brought this garbage removed immediately!â
âI brought it.â
A deep, commanding voice resonated from the back of the ballroom.
The heavy, brass-trimmed mahogany doors swung open.
Walking down the center aisle was Daniel Reyes.
At twenty-two, he stood six-foot-two, broad-shouldered, carrying an aura of quiet, unshakeable authority. He wore a flawless, custom-tailored black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt, his posture straight as iron, his eyes calm, sharp, and commanding total respect.
The entire ballroom fell into a stunned silence. Several prominent corporate executives in the crowd immediately recognized himâDaniel Reyes, the enigmatic real estate mogul who controlled half the commercial properties downtown.
Evelyn stared at him, her heart skipping a beat. She didn't recognize his face from fifteen years ago, but she instantly recognized his power.

âMr. Reyes?â Julian Vance stepped forward, extending his hand nervously. âWe didn't know you were attending tonight!â
Daniel ignored Julianâs outstretched hand. He walked slowly past him, stopping directly in front of the gift table, placing his hand over the newspaper-wrapped box.
