Chapter 5 - The Midnight Raid on the Docks

At 1:30 AM, heavy freezing rain swept across the industrial shipping yards of Calumet Harbor.
Inside Warehouse 12, Viktor Volkov—a ruthless Russian syndicate boss with silver-streaked hair and cold blue eyes—stood over an open wooden crate filled with automatic weapons, smoking a heavy cigar. Flanking him were thirty heavily armed mercenaries in tactical vests.
"Has the demolition crew detonated the 44th Street block yet?" Volkov barked in thick Russian accents.
"The crew arrived ten minutes ago, Boss," his lieutenant replied. "The basement was empty. Someone moved the squatters out two hours before our trucks arrived."
"Who dared to enter my territory?!" Volkov roared, slamming his fist onto the crate.
"I did," a deep, booming voice echoed from the steel rafters above.
Every halogen floodlight inside the warehouse suddenly shattered in unison, plunging the facility into pitch-black darkness.
Concussive flashbangs detonated across the floor, blinding the mercenaries with brilliant bursts of white light.
Through the shattered roll-up doors surged forty elite Calvetti tactical operators, moving with flawless, terrifying military precision. Within ninety seconds, Volkov's guards were disarmed, immobilized, and pinned face-down against the wet concrete floor.
Footsteps clicked rhythmically against the stone.
Dante Calvetti emerged from the smoke, dressed in his black suit and heavy wool overcoat, an unyielding aura of absolute power radiating from every step.

Volkov scrambled backward against a shipping container, drawing his pistol with trembling hands.
Before he could raise the weapon, Dante stepped forward, kicking the gun cleanly from Volkov’s grip, sending it skittering across the floor. In one swift, effortless motion, Dante seized Volkov by the collar of his leather coat, slamming him against the steel container wall.
