Chapter 6 - The Sabotage AttemptMarcus and Victoria sped down to the engine room. Steam was rising from the secondary cooling manifold, and the digital displays were flashing red warnings across the monitors.
Marcus grabbed a wrench, stripping off his suit jacket. "Someone manually loosened the coolant valve and bypassed the emergency shutdown sensors. If this runs for another ten minutes, the engine will seize completely."
Victoria watched as Marcus worked with fearless precision, tightening valves and manual bypass lines despite the scolding steam blowing past his shoulders.
Standing in the shadow near the exit corridor was one of Harrison Brennan's private security guards, holding a digital override key.
Victoria spotted him immediately. She signaled her onboard security team, who quietly surrounded the man before he could escape up the companionway.

"Brennan knew Aurora was running again," Victoria whispered to Marcus as he closed the steam vents. "He tried to sabotage the ship tonight so he wouldn't look foolish after claiming the system was unfixable."
"He's desperate," Marcus said, tightening the final bolt as the engine stabilized. "Which means he knows I'm here."
