THE ENGINE ROOM TRUTH / Chapter 10 / 10

Chapter 10 - A New HorizonSix months later.

The morning sun reflected brilliantly across the harbor as a brand-new research vessel glided gracefully through the blue waters. Painted on the hull in bold silver letters was the name: GRAY-ASHFORD INNOVATIONS.

On the bow stood Marcus, dressed comfortably in a clean chambray shirt, reviewing digital blueprints alongside a team of young, bright engineering apprentices.

Victoria walked out from the captain’s quarters carrying two mugs of coffee. She handed one to Marcus, her smile warm and relaxed—a far cry from the cold, ruthless billionaire who had walked down the gangway months ago.

"The board just approved our clean-energy propulsion fleet," Victoria said, leaning against the railing beside him. "We're converting fifty commercial vessels by the end of the year."

"And Lily’s marine conservation school opens next month," Marcus added, watching his daughter laughing on the dock with her friends.

Victoria looked at Marcus, reaching out to clasp his hand tightly. "You know, when my engines broke, I thought it was the worst week of my life."

Marcus smiled, his rough fingers wrapping gently around hers. "Sometimes things have to break so the right people can fix them."

Together, they looked out toward the open ocean—a future built on truth, family, and a partnership that no storm could ever shake.
