The desk lamp cast a warm amber glow over piles of event schedules and financial folders.
Working quickly, Imogen searched the open organizer on the desk. Tucked inside a leather folder stamped Apex Luxury Events was a signed kickback agreement guaranteeing Harrison and Victoria a fifteen percent commission on every charity gala managed by Apex over the next three years!
In addition, the folder contained a forged audit report falsely claiming Reyes Catering had violated health codesâa fake report intended to give Diane an excuse to breach Beatrizâs contract!
