Chapter 2 - The Red Blinking BeaconâMove! Now!â Agent Lucas Reed commanded, grabbing Mayaâs arm and shielding her with his body as two airport police officers sprinted toward Carousel 4.

Travisâs friendly mask completely shattered into a terrifying, furious glare. âGrab her!â Travis screamed toward two men in dark coats pushing through the baggage claim doors.
Pandemonium erupted across the terminal. Passengers screamed, ducking behind luggage carts as Agent Reed drew his service weapon, firing two warning shots into the ceiling concrete!
BANG! BANG!
The sharp echoes scattered the attackers, giving Reed enough time to hustle Maya through an emergency service door leading to the secure tarmac loading area.
Maya clutched her seven-month pregnant belly, her heart hammering against her ribs, tears streaming down her face as Reed pulled the heavy black suitcase behind them.

âWhere is Noah?!â Maya sobbed, gasping for breath against the cold brick wall. âWhat did Travis do to my husband?!â
âYour brother-in-law runs a multi-million-dollar money laundering syndicate through airport logistics, Mrs. Carter,â Agent Reed said, unlocking a dark federal SUV idling near the tarmac gate. âNoah found the ledger drive three days ago. He was trying to bring it to us before Travis intercepted him.â
