Chapter 10 - Gideon’s Counter-Attack

Gideon let out a sharp cry of pain, clutching his bruised wrist, but desperation fueled a final, reckless surge of adrenaline. He lunged sideways toward his executive desk, smashing his elbow through the glass top to grab a heavy brass letter opener, swinging it blindly toward Adrian’s face. Adrian easily ducked the clumsy strike, countering with a solid, punishing right hook that sent Gideon crashing backward into a display case of crystal glassware, shattering it into a thousand glittering pieces.
Gideon slumped against the base of the broken cabinet, dazed, bleeding from a cut above his eyebrow, and completely defeated. Security guards rushed into the office seconds later, led by Adrian’s chief of security, snapping steel handcuffs around Gideon’s wrists before he could regain his footing.
"Take him to the holding facility," Adrian ordered coldly, straightening his suit jacket. "Make sure federal prosecutors have all the digital backups and Keith’s signed confession waiting on their desks by seven o'clock tomorrow morning." As Gideon was hauled away, cursing and spitting threats into the empty hallway, the final physical threat to my life and my restaurant was officially neutralized.
