Thirty employees stood in the parking lot, confused and angry, as auditors posted foreclosure notices on the front doors.
Dad ran out into the parking lot, shouting at the auditors, trying to blame me for his collapse.
âMy daughter did this!â Dad screamed at his workers. âShe betrayed her own blood!â
Lena, my operations manager, stepped out of her car in the parking lot. She had brought official hiring packets from Haven & Pine.
âClaire Bennett didn't betray you,â Lena announced loudly to the crowd of workers. âShe set up a transition fund. Haven & Pine is opening a new distribution warehouse next week, and every single Bennett Supply employee is offered a job with higher pay and full health benefits starting today!â
