Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Sun

As the sun began to dip behind the Flatiron peaks, painting the sky in breathtaking shades of gold, amber, and deep violet, our friends raised their crystal glasses in a joyful toast to our upcoming wedding.

Julian took my hand, walking with me down the stone steps toward the edge of the terrace.

I looked at the calm, clear water of the pool, remembering the cold, humiliating night in Aspen three years ago when a room full of cowards laughed while I gasped for air in the dark.

They had believed that pushing me into the freezing water would break my pride and force me into submission.

They had never understood that the cold does not extinguish steel—it tempers it.

From the freezing depths of that pool, I had risen to dismantle their deceit, reclaim my empire, and build a sanctuary of truth, dignity, and everlasting love.

Julian leaned down, his eyes full of pure, radiant devotion, and pressed a tender, lingering kiss against my lips beneath the golden mountain sunset.

The ice of the past had completely melted away. In its place stood a magnificent, unyielding dawn—and my life was finally, gloriously unbroken.
