Chapter 10 - Wings of RedemptionA year later.
The sun was setting over the airfield, painting the clouds in brilliant shades of gold, violet, and orange.
Marcus stood on the tarmac beside the newly customized Gulfstream. On the side of the jet, painted in elegant silver lettering, was the name: THE ETHAN & VICTORIA.
Ethan was running around the tarmac playing with a model airplane, his laughter echoing across the open space. Victoria walked up beside Marcus, slipping her hand gently into his. Marcus closed his fingers around hers, feeling a deep sense of peace he hadn't felt in over a decade.
"Are you ready for takeoff, Chief?" Victoria asked softly, leaning her head against his shoulder.

Marcus looked at his son, then at the woman beside him, and finally up at the endless, beautiful sky. He had spent six years hiding on the ground, believing that safety meant giving up his dreams. But now he realized that true safety was having a family to return home to.
"I'm ready," Marcus smiled, pulling her close. "Let's fly."
