Chapter 9 - The Truth at MidnightThe crowd of holiday shoppers fell into a curious silence.

Noah stepped in front of me protectively, his posture straight as iron. “Julianna, whatever game you are playing, end it now.”

“It’s no game, Noah,” Julianna smirked, pulling out a printout of our old 2016 Nevada annulment application. “Your 'wife' came here on a paid twenty-five-thousand-dollar contract! She’s a hired actor from Boston, paid to pose as your fiancĂ©e because your farm was bankrupt!”

The crowd gasped in shock!

Harrison Vance frowned deeply, looking at Noah with sharp disappointment. “Mr. McAllister... is this true? Is your marriage a financial performance?”

I stepped out from behind Noah, holding my head high, my posture regal and unshakeable.

I pulled out my phone, opening my secure bank portal, and showed the screen directly to Harrison Vance.

“The twenty-five thousand dollar contract was real, Mr. Vance,” I said calmly. “Noah offered it to me six weeks ago when I was short on my shop lease. But look at the transaction history.”

Harrison looked at the screen. The transfer status read: CANCELLED BY BENEFICIARY — RETURNED TO MCALLISTER FARM TRUST.

“I canceled the contract three weeks ago, Mr. Vance,” I revealed, looking directly into Julianna’s shocked face. “I didn't stay here for money. I stayed here because Noah McAllister is my husband.”

Noah pulled our official, notarized Nevada Marriage Certificate from his jacket pocket—stamped with a fresh county validation seal he had quietly processed two weeks prior.

“Our marriage began ten years ago in Las Vegas, Mr. Vance,” Noah declared proudly, slipping his gold wedding band onto his finger, then sliding a flawless diamond ring onto mine. “And it was validated for life this month.”

Harrison Vance looked at the marriage certificate, then at our record-breaking sales ledgers, and let out a warm, booming laugh.

He pulled out his pen, signing the two-million-dollar operating loan approval right on the counter!

“Loan approved, Mr. McAllister,” Harrison smiled, shaking Noah’s hand. “McAllister Pine has the best leadership in the state.”

Julianna stormed out of the lodge in complete, humiliating defeat as the crowd erupted into warm applause and cheers!
