I answered, standing firm behind the security gate, accompanied by Graham.

“Mom!” Daniel pleaded, his eyes red and hollow. “Drop the charges against Vanessa! Her lawyers say she’s facing five years in prison! If she goes to prison, my reputation is destroyed!”
