Chapter 2

Chapter 2

For eighteen years, he had raised that little girl as his own.

He taught her how to ride a bicycle.

He walked her to school on her very first day.

He stayed by her bedside whenever she had a fever.

He held her every time she cried.

Every single day of her life, he had called her his daughter.

And now, in one devastating sentence, someone had told him they didn't share a single drop of blood.

The room remained perfectly still.

Then something happened that no one expected.

The daughter walked straight toward him.

The father slowly looked up.

His eyes were filled with heartbreak.

She stopped in front of him.

Then she spoke.

"I don't care."

He blinked.

"What?"

"I don't care who gave me my DNA."

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"You were the one who taught me how to walk."

Another tear fell.

"You helped me with my math homework."

Another.

"You stayed awake all night whenever I was sick."

The father's voice broke.

"Sweetheart..."

She gently shook her head.

"You're my dad."

The man finally broke down.

For the first time in years.

Not with anger.

Not with pride.

Only with grief.

And love.

The daughter wrapped her arms around him.

He held her back as tightly as he could, as if he were terrified that letting go would mean losing her forever.

Daniel watched the scene in silence.

Then he slowly nodded.

Like a man who had finally accepted a truth that could never be changed.

Because he realized something.

Biology may explain how a life begins.

But it can never define the person who was there to live every moment of it.

From the couch, the mother watched everything unfold.

And for the first time...

She truly understood the magnitude of what she had destroyed.

She hadn't just ended a marriage that night.

She had destroyed twenty years of trust.

The lies.

The affair.

The manipulation.

The fake pregnancy.

Every deception had been a desperate attempt to hold on to something she herself had already broken.

Slowly, she stood up.

May you like

No one tried to stop her.

No one said a word.
