The woman disappeared into the tiny house.
Minutes later, she returned carrying an old rusted metal box.
Its lock had long since broken.
Inside were faded letters...
Hospital records...
And a single photograph wrapped in cloth.
She handed it to him with trembling hands.
The rich man carefully unfolded it.
His breath stopped.
A young woman lay weakly in a hospital bed...
Holding a newborn baby.
Beside her stood a village nurse.
The same nurse now standing before him.
On the back of the photograph were six words written in faded blue ink.
"Please let my son know love."
The handwriting shook as if written with dying hands.
The rich man's fingers trembled uncontrollably.
"This..."
"It's your mother," the woman whispered.
Tears rolled down her face.
