Chapter 9 - Standing TogetherElena looked around the table of billionaire investors, her voice steady and echoing with unmistakable authority.

“I am here to protect my family,” Elena said clearly. “And my husband.”
She placed a thick leather binder on the table—a complete, transparent record of her father’s shop, Mateo’s medical receipts, and every financial transfer executed by Montero Enterprises.
“Julian Vance lied to you,” Elena declared, turning to the wide video screen broadcasting the press conference waiting downstairs. “My husband did not buy my family. He saved us. He paid for my brother’s life-saving treatments out of his own personal funds, not corporate capital. And as for our marriage...”
She turned to Ricardo, reaching out to take his hand in front of the entire board. Ricardo wrapped his fingers around hers, holding on like a lifeline.
“Our marriage began as an arrangement,” Elena said, looking directly into the cameras mounted in the room. “But today, it is held together by love, trust, and absolute loyalty. If you want to force Ricardo out, you will have to answer to the public for trying to destroy the man who saved my family’s life.”

The room went dead silent. The senior directors looked at the transparent documents, then at the undeniable, fierce devotion between the couple standing at the head of the table.
Within two hours, the board unanimously voted to retain Ricardo as CEO, and legal charges were filed against Julian Vance for corporate slander.
